Accounting Associate - Bookkeeper


Our client is looking for an Accounting Associate - Bookkeper to join their Client Onboarding team. This role works primarily with new clients to analyze their financial records, fix existing accounting and bookkeeping errors, and transition clean data to the ongoing client team. The Associate works closely with the company’s Onboarding and Ongoing teams and leverages their accounting and technical expertise to help streamline client processes, recommend accounting and workflow changes, and position clients to reach their financial goals. This person also advises our staff and our existing clients on accounting trends and questions, and pitches in on project work. This position reports to the Team Leader of Onboarding.

SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (9:00 PM – 6:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays




·       Assist in due diligence and deep dive analysis of new clients’ accounting records and reporting

·       Use financial analytical skill sets to assist in auditing, investigating, and analyzing all components of a client’s financial infrastructure

·       Document the key findings from due diligence and analysis in the CRM system for the teams

·       Assist in the clean-up of client accounting and bookkeeping records based on the results of due diligence and advise on changes and updates as needed, per the signed client agreement

·       Adhere to timelines (with the team) for new business proposals, due diligence projects, and accounting file clean-up to prepare for the ongoing work team

·       Set up all client procedures and information in JetPack Workflow to hand off to the ongoing client team (this is an essential piece to ensure a smooth transition)

·       Retain ownership of a client for a period before hand-off to ongoing team

·       Provide accounting guidance to clients and breakwater team members

·       Stay up to date on ever-changing cloud accounting software updates and tools, as well as be proactive in staying current on segment industry specifics and requirements (e.g., restaurants, attorneys, franchises, nonprofits, automotive, etc.)

·       Identify areas for improvement in each client’s accounting processes or reporting and provide solutions

·       Work closely with other Onboarding team members, and ongoing teams to ensure a professional and excellent client experience


·       Accounting degree and minimum 2 years of accounting experience required

·       Small-mid size business accounting and bookkeeping knowledge required

·       Demonstrated expertise QuickBooks Online at minimum

·       Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite

·       Comfortable with learning new technology and accounting applications quickly

·       Must be highly organized, tech savvy, self-motivated, comfortable with change and ambiguity and able to work in a fast-paced environment

·       Detail oriented and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy

·       Ability to multitask and meet deadlines using excellent time management skills with ease and professionalism
