Data Specialist

ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is looking for a Data Specialist, who will be responsible for gathering information to assist the real estate tax consultants and business personal property tax consultants in working on their accounts. He/she will work primarily from a PTS system-generated calendar event task list, assigned in order of deadline priority. This person will accurately document any necessary information and communicate issues to the tax consultants and/or their managers.

SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Standard Time (10:00 PM – 7:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·       Perform the following value collections and tax bill collection tasks:

o   Use PTS system generated events in placing phone calls, email, fax or completing internet research to obtain current values from the taxing jurisdictions and other pertinent data pertaining to the appeal process.  

o   Confirm the mailing address of any assessment notifications and update the address when appropriate in our PTS database system

o   Obtain a copy of the value backup document and electronically link it in the PTS system when we are unable to obtain an original assessment notice

o   Update values and appeal data in the PTS system

o   Communicate any issues or other important information to the consultants via notes in the system, emails, or personal communication

o   Obtain, scan and link copies of tax bills when we are unable to obtain the original tax bill

·       Prepare approvals for property tax bills and perform the following related tasks:

o   Review the property tax bill document that has been linked to the system and confirm the accuracy of various pieces of information on the tax bill and in the PTS system

o   Communicate any errors discovered via PTS system notes, email, or personal communication to the consultant for correction

o   Prepare a bill approval page and submit for review to the appropriate tax bill reviewer

·       Review other tax bill related correspondence to ensure it is linked correctly in the system and forward anything that requires action to the consultant and/or their manager

·       Perform other tasks deemed necessary by your supervisor or manager

QUALIFICATIONS

·       A Bachelor’s degree in the related field

·       Prior office experience is preferred but not necessary

·       Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft 365 applications

·       Ability to learn new software is necessary

·       Ability to type 75 wpm and ten key by touch

·       Experience in a multi-client environment

·       Strong organization, oral and written communication skills

·       Good phone etiquette and interpersonal skills

·       Analytical skills with particular attention to detail

·       Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation

·       Good time management skills

·       Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
