Cloud Solutions Engineer

THE ROLE

Our client is looking for a Cloud Solutions Engineer who will report directly to the Manager of Professional Services. This role will be dedicated to the management, security, and best practices of cloud-based infrastructure. He/she will be the primary resource for cloud solution migration projects and is responsible for working with the professional services, client success, and service delivery teams to ensure the successful deployment and optimization of cloud infrastructure.

SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Mountain Standard Time (11:00 PM – 8:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·       Research and develop cloud standards

·       Train and set cloud standards, primarily focused on Microsoft’s Azure environment, but subject to expansion into other cloud-based solutions

·       Develop and implement viable products within the Microsoft Azure/Office365 line for both internal use as well as our client base 

·       Research and evaluate emerging cloud technologies, tools, and best practices to drive innovation and improve the organization's cloud capabilities

·       Work with Technical Alignment Managers to develop standards for cloud environments

·       Work with the Professional Services team to develop standards for cloud environment migrations 

·       Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect cloud infrastructure, data, and applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations

·       Monitor cloud resources, analyze performance metrics, and optimize infrastructure to enhance scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness

·       Develop comprehensive cloud architecture solutions aligned with client business objectives, including infrastructure design, network connectivity, storage, security, and scalability

·       Develop and implement automated processes and infrastructure-as-code solutions to streamline the deployment, configuration, and management of cloud resources

·       Provide accurate and timely delivery of cloud-based projects including scopes, customer impact, and overall technical project success

·       Act as a primary engineer for executing cloud projects 

·       Adhere to the project process and handle review, accuracy, and performance of project delivery 

·       Understand the goals of the project, complete proper risk assessments, meet all scoped project objectives, and follow the established project lifecycle 

·       Maintain accurate notes and status in all assigned projects, including communicating both internally and externally throughout the life of the project 

·       Provide troubleshooting and support

·       Identify and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure, working closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely resolution

·       Create detailed technical documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures, and provide training and knowledge transfer to team members

·       Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and deliver successful cloud solutions

·       Perform other duties as needed or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

·       Proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-based solutions, preferably within Microsoft Azure

·       Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, infrastructure components, security, and services

·       Proficient in scripting and automation using tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Terraform

·       Solid understanding of DevOps principles and infrastructure-as-code concepts.

·       Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable

·       Extensive technical experience and knowledge of Microsoft platforms

·       Familiarity with security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and CMMC)

·       Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

·       Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines

·       Analytical skills with particular attention to detail

·       Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

·       Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

·       Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
