Employment Tax Accountant

ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is looking for an Employment Tax Accountant, who will be primarily responsible for processing employment tax returns and remitting tax payments for multiple companies with multiple clients and pay cycles. The ideal candidate can identify and resolve issues and can work and thrive in a lean, team environment, focused on achieving results. Additionally, you should have the ability to plan for and execute frequent deadlines, determine priorities, and self-direct core tasks. Meticulous attention to detail, reliability, and capacity to carry out daily functions in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner will be key to your success.

SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Mountain Daylight Time (11:00 PM – 8:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·       Manage the full execution of filing employment tax returns, remittance of tax payments, and meeting all reporting requirements on time

·       Correspond with agencies as needed

·       Ensure proper tracking, documentation, and record retention in a paperless environment

·       Maintain tax software to ensure data completion, alignment with various department information, and its reconciliation to payroll calculation software

·       Coordinate with the Compliance Department to ensure systems and schedules are current to remain in compliance with reporting and payment requirements

·       Support the accounting team with data importation and reconciliation, as needed

·       Develop and generate ad hoc payroll reports, as needed, or requested

·       Develop knowledge of features and functionality of the payroll processing system

·       Maintain employment tax knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading publications, etc.

·       Perform such other duties appropriate to the role, as may be required from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS

·       A high school diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred

·       A minimum of 2 years of payroll tax return filing and payment experience

·       Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with QuickBooks desired

·       Knowledge of MasterTax is preferred but not required

·       Familiarity with and understanding of PEO operations a plus

·       Experience in a multi-state environment preferred but not required

·       Experience in a multi-client and multi-system environment is preferred but not required

·       Must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet multiple simultaneous deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and recordkeeping

·       Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation

·       Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
