Backend Developer

ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is looking for a Backend Developer who will play a critical role in the development and enhancement of the technological infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions, including the client portal platform, to meet the needs of the clients and internal team members. The Backend Developer will lead software development efforts, manage system rollouts, and drive technical improvements to ensure the optimal functionality and performance of our technology operations.

POSSIBLE SCHEDULES:  

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time (11:00 PM – 8:00 AM Philippine Standard Time)

9:00 AM – 6:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (12:00 AM – 9:00 AM Philippine Standard Time)

Follows Philippine holidays

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·       Perform the following tasks related to software development:

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for software projects

·       Design and develop high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions that align with business goals and client needs

·       Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using industry best practices

·       Perform thorough testing of software applications and troubleshoot and resolve any defects or issues

·       Perform the following tasks related to new software system rollouts:

·       Lead the planning, execution, and deployment of new software systems or features, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to operations

·       Coordinate with internal team members to gather requirements, define project scope, and create project plans and timelines

·       Collaborate with project teams to manage project resources, monitor progress, address identified obstacles, and ensure successful project completion while adhering to defined road map timeframes

·       Perform the following tasks related to technical and functionality improvements:

·       Identify opportunities for technical and functional enhancements to the client portal platform, and other systems, as needed

·       Address system performance and usability issues through continuous monitoring, analysis, and improvement efforts

·       Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, evaluating their potential to enhance existing systems inclusive of emerging artificial intelligence applications

·       Perform the following tasks related to leading internal coder for technology operations:

·       Serve as the go-to expert for coding and technical solutions for all company technology operation needs

·       Collaborate with IT and other departments to understand technical requirements and provide coding expertise and guidance

QUALIFICATIONS

·       Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred

·       Proven experience as a software developer with a focus on web-based applications

·       Experience with software development tools and frameworks, such as version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile methodologies

·       Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#

·       Familiarity with financial services and IRA regulations is a plus

·       In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices

·       Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues

·       Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

·       Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines

·       Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
