Junior Product Owner

ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is looking for a Junior Product Owner to join their growing team. This is a curious, problem-solving individual with an understanding of agile methodologies and the ability to translate business requirements into agile artifacts. This role, in collaboration with others, prioritizes work, grooms the backlog, and works closely with their scrum team to facilitate Scrum ceremonies and focus on continuous improvement. This role is essential in bridging stakeholder requirements with team capabilities, ensuring efficient and effective product development cycles.

SCHEDULE: 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM Philippine Standard Time, follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·       Serve as a communication bridge between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring a mutual understanding of requirements and product progress

·       Analyze, refine, and articulate requirements into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases to provide clear guidance to the engineering team

·       Assess proposed solutions to ensure they meet business objectives and are feasible within the technical environment; validate solutions against initial requirements

·       Identify and address bottlenecks or impediments that interfere with the team’s progress in a sprint, working with the team and external parties to find a resolution

·       Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring full participation from team members and maintaining focus on the agenda

·       Assist in the prioritization of product backlog items based on business value and ROI

·       Help the team uphold Scrum values and adopt best practices, under the guidance of an Agile Coach

·       Monitor team velocity and health, encouraging a sustainable pace with high-level quality for the team

·       Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in Agile methodologies and business analysis

·       Attend workshops, webinars, and conferences, or obtain advanced certifications can be part of this continuous learning process

·       Review and suggest improvements to existing business analysis techniques and processes within the organization, promoting efficiency and effectiveness

·       Seek feedback actively from team members and stakeholders to understand how the Scrum framework can be adjusted for better efficiency in future sprints

·       Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

·       A Bachelor’s degree in the related field

·       More than 2 years of experience in product development, preferably within an Agile environment

·       Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft 365 applications

·       Experience in a multi-client environment

·       Strong organization, oral and written communication skills

·       Analytical skills with particular attention to detail

·       Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
