Commercial Glazing Drafter

THE ROLE

Our client is looking for a Commercial Glazing Drafter who will be responsible for generating accurate and thorough shop drawings for a wide variety of projects ranging from small interior windows to large commercial projects using AutoCAD and according to the client’s drafting standards. You will need to solve complex problems and provide solutions as needed for the shop, field, and project management teams for any projects assigned to you.

SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM – 6:00 Central Daylight Time (10:00 PM – 7:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·       Produce shop drawings based on information supplied by the project management and estimating teams

·       Read and understand the architectural drawings to meet the design intent

·       Follow window manufacturer installation instructions and the client’s drafting standards to generate thorough shop drawings for the shop and field teams

·       Provide material takeoffs as needed

·       Generate RFIs to get information clarified with the customers

·       Work with other drafters in a team environment to help on projects as needed

·       Assess the constructability of the systems being drawn

·       Schedule your time to meet deadlines as indicated for each project

·       Answer technical questions that may arise on the projects

QUALIFICATIONS

·       A Bachelor’s degree in the related field

·       A minimum of 2 years of glazing industry experience generating shop drawings in the building facade industry

·       Knowledge of glass industry dynamics and glazing products (fixed glazing, aluminum and glass storefronts, doors, and interior glass)

·       General understanding of commercial building practices

·       Experience with takeoffs is a big plus

·       Experience using AutoCAD above 2010

·       Experience with Bluebeam for PDF documents

·       Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, OneNote, and Excel

·       Experience in a multi-client environment

·       Possess good problem-solving skills

·       Strong organizational skills

·       Strong oral and written communication skills

·       Analytical skills with particular attention to detail

·       Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
