NOC Engineer

ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is looking for an NOC Engineer who will serve several important roles within the organization. The primary roles consist of process automation, backup, patching, monitoring, and remediation. He/she will perform systems management, monitoring, and configuration of the Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tool(s). This role will also work with the direct manager to ensure the engineer’s educational goals are met and desired certifications are obtained.

SCHEDULE: 11:30 PM – 8:30 AM Pacific Daylight Time (2:30 PM – 11:30 PM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·       Manage all accounting transactions and ensure timely entries into QuickBooks

o   Handle the following automation duties:

o   Define RMM policy, discovery, and alignment (Kaseya)

o   Develop automation processes, primarily via creating and modifying PowerShell scripts

o   Perform continued streamlining monitoring and patching

o   Backup audit processes and daily reporting

·       Handle the following NOC duties:

o   Monitor RMM

o   Support of various types of server environments

o   Exhibit a functional understanding of firewalls, switching, routing, and VLANs

o   Perform daily backup audits and remediation, including working with vendor support as needed

o   Provide daily review and processing of alert tickets

o   Monitor industry and public forums regarding patch reliability and make determinations regarding any patches that should be blocked due to community-reported issues

o   Handle patching status review and remediation

o   Handle advanced virus and malware cleanup

·       Handle the following documentation duties:

o   Document all processes and procedures as they are created.

o   Update existing process documentation whenever it shows itself to be out of date or missing information, steps, etc.

o   Work with team to review created and updated processes for clarity and accuracy

·       Assist with after-hours work as requested, including server-down calls

·       Attend and contribute to scheduled team meetings when appropriate and possible

·       Continue knowledge development of relevant technologies and software as appropriate

·       Keep internal systems up to date with the latest vendor releases (ConnectWise Manager and Kaseya)

·       Perform after-hours maintenance tasks on client and internal servers as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

·       A Bachelor’s degree in the related field or equivalent experience

·       Five or more years of related experience

·       Experience in PowerShell scripting, backup/disaster recovery monitoring, and troubleshooting

·       Kaseya Certified Expert is preferred

·       Deep understanding of Kaseya, or other RMM tools

·       Strong organization, oral and written communication skills

·       Analytical skills with particular attention to detail

·       Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
