Website Designer (Developer)

ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is looking for a Website Designer/Developer with strong design skills to help them build beautiful, user-centered websites for their clients. You will work with our small team and your role will be central to our company’s success. You must be confident in your skills but willing to learn and be adaptable to whatever comes your way.

Our ideal candidate would be experienced in WordPress, has a strong UI/UX understanding and keen attention to detail, is an excellent communicator and problem solver, and can work independently. You will be asked to show websites that you developed using WordPress, plus a design portfolio.

SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time (9:00 PM – 6:00 AM Philippine Standard time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·       Build, launch, and maintain websites using WordPress

·       Take on development tasks which include small edits to full website builds in a timely and efficient manner

·       Collaborate with designers to understand user requirements and project goals and develop visually appealing designs and layouts

·       Apply best practices and industry standards to ensure accessibility and usability

·       Ensure websites are optimized for speed and performance

·       Ensure websites are compatible with various web browsers and mobile devices

·       Keep up to date with the latest design and web development trends and technologies including AI

QUALIFICATIONS

·       A degree in a related field is preferred but can be replaced with additional work experience

·       3+ years of work experience designing websites; experience in other design fields will be considered if portfolio includes web design work

·       3+ years of work experience developing WordPress websites

·       Knowledge of user-centered design as well as usability principles and techniques

·       Experience with WordPress, CSS, HTML, PHP, and Elementor is essential

·       Fluency with the Adobe Suite and UX design tools including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, XD, and Figma

·       Strong understanding of technical SEO best practices

·       Excellent visual and verbal communication skills

·       Organized with strong time management skills

·       Creative thinker with problem-solving skills who likes to ask questions

·       Works independently but knows when to lean on the power of the team and seek advice

·       Take initiative to do the work and doesn’t need handholding
